The organization is formed for the purpose of uniting in a central organization, all members of qualified bowling teams, leagues and unattached individuals bowling in certified bowling establishments located in the Orange Belt USBC area. This area includes Polk, Highlands and Hardee Counties. This also includes bowlers residing in Hillsborough County bowling in Orange Belt Bowling Centers.
OBBA board is a group of elected volunteers who not only bowl in in the OBBA association but strive to provide a service to all bowlers, including running an annual tournament for both adults and youth, Volunteer their services for all USBC sanctioned tournaments in our zone or charity tournaments like BEV WRIGHT MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT held annually. We also volunteer our services with coaching and helping the youth bowlers in our centers.
We publish an annual yearbook that provides centers with yearly averages of all bowlers in our zoned centers and other important information.
We help organize leagues in each center, oversee the running of those leagues with a board member assigned to each center and make sure awards are given out to league bowlers accordingly.
We also certify each center annually to make sure they meet the requirements of USBC to enable our bowlers to have a safe and fun experience while bowling.
We run a ways and means shop at every major tournament which helps fund our organization, our youth bowlers and also help with charity's.
We hold an annual Banquet and meeting every year which every bowler and their family can attend for a small fee (that pays for their food and beverages) as well as door prizes. The Annual Banquet is a great way to mix with all bowlers in a relaxed atmosphere, paricipate in voting of new board members, cheer on the bowlers who have won at the annual championship tournaments as they are presented their Jackets, and give accolades to the newly inducted Hall Of Fame Nominee.
These are just some of the things we strive to do,
